Hobson Announces Three More Signings for 2012-13

Fort Hays State women’s basketball coach Tony Hobson has announced three more signings for the 2012-13 season. Taylor Chandler and Alyssa Palmer sign with the program out of Kansas high schools, while Tara Ingalsbe signs with the Tigers from Cloud County (Kan.) Community College. These three join a class of three individuals that inked with the Tigers in the early fall signing period.

Chandler comes to the program from Wichita Heights High School in Wichita, Kan. where she helped the Falcons to back-to-back undefeated state championship seasons as a junior and senior. The 5-foot, 5-inch point guard earned Kansas Class 6A All-State First Team honors as a senior after averaging 12.2 points, 3.4 assists and 5.4 steals per game in 2011-12. Chandler earned All-City League First Team honors as a senior and honorable mention honors as a junior.

Palmer comes to FHSU from Olathe East High School in Olathe, Kan. where she was an Kansas Class 6A All-State Honorable Mention selection as a senior in 2011-12. The 5-foot, 6-inch guard finished as Olathe East High School’s career leader in 3-point field goals made. As a senior, she averaged 12 points and four assists per game. She was an All-Sunflower League First Team selection as a senior and second-team selection as a junior.

Ingalsbe is a 6-1 post player who played two years at Cloud County (Kan.) Community College. The Wamego, Kan. native averaged a team-leading 12.9 points, 6.9 rebounds per game and 1.3 blocked shots per game as a sophomore at Cloud County and was name to the All-Jayhawk West Second Team and was an All-Region 6 Honorable Mention selection here sophomore year. Ingalsbe played her freshman year at Johnson County (Kan.) Community College, where she averaged 3.1 points and 1.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 57 percent from the field. She was a Kansas Class 4A All-State Honorable Mention selection in 2009-10 at Wamego High School averaging a double-double of 19.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. She was twice an all-league first team selection.

These three individuals join the three that signed in the fall early signing period, which includes Beth Bohuslavsky of Dwight, Neb., and Hays, Kan., natives Paige Lunsford and Rachel Jacobs.

Bohuslavsky completed her undefeated high school career at 101-0 as a member of four undefeated state championship teams at Seward High School. She was an All-Nebraska First Team selection for all classes as a senior, along with All-State Class B First Team honors, averaging 12.5 points and six assists per game. As a junior, she was an All-Nebraska Third Team selection for all classes along with another All-State Class B First Team selection.

Lunsford garnered Kansas Class 5A All-State First Team honors in 2011-12 at Hays High School. She helped Hays High to a league championship as a senior, averaging 15.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.6 steals per game as the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year. She also earned all-state honorable mention honors as a junior. She earned all-league honors all four years of her high school career.

Jacobs earned Kansas Class 3A All-State First Team honors in 2011-12 as a senior at Thomas More Prep-Marian High School. She was a member of four consecutive league championship teams for the Monarchs. As a senior, she averaged 15.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.7 steals, and 3.2 assists per game. She broke the school’s career scoring record as a senior in 2011-12.
