Earl Wayne Ummel, 72, passed away on September 9, 2018 outside of LaCrosse, Kansas. He was born on July 12, 1946 in Ransom, Kansas the son of Frederick and Letha Tillitson Ummel.
He was a Welder and Mechanic. He was in the United States Navy from 1966-1970. He worked at the Ness City Coop, Ransom Grade School, Deines Mowers, Missouri Pacific Railroad, AeroSwint, and Abercrombie as an oilfield production foreman and pumper. He was a Jack-of-All Trades, Master of None, Slave to All. He married Linda L. Bauer on Saturday, January 22nd, 1972, in Ransom.
Survivors include; Wife, Linda Ummel of Ransom; Sons, John Conrad Ummel of Ransom and Samuel Wayne Ummel of Utica; a brother, Billy Dean and wife, Alice Ummel of Ransom; a sister, Betty and husband, Gerald Briand of Ransom; and five grandchildren, Dray Carson, Tara Jo Walker, Tyler Jones, Koby Jones, and Brayden Ummel. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Benjamin Earl Ummel; and a daughter, Letha Jo Ummel.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, September 15, 2018, 10:30 A.M., at the Praise Fellowship Church, Ransom, Kansas. Inurnment will be in the Ransom Cemetery. There will be no viewing, but friends may sign the book on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., and visit with the family from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
