Lunsford Named WAC Softball Player of the Year

Hays High senior Paige Lunsford has added another Player of the Year honor to her list of accomplishments. Earlier this spring, Lunsford was named the Western Athletic Conference basketball Player of the Year. Now she’s been named the WAC Softball Player of the Year.

Lunsford led the Indians with 11 home runs and 42 RBI’s. She was second on the team with a .543 batting average, 38 hits and had one of the squads four triples on season.

She’s joined on the All-Western Athletic Conference first team by junior Katelyn Schumacher, sophomore Haley Wells and freshman Hannah Hearld.

Mackenzie Flaska, Shea Briggs, Jillian Taylor and Courtney Storer were named honorable mention.
