Next month, the Fort Hays State University Music and Theatre Department will stage its own production of the musical “Mamma Mia.” The fall dates for the musical are Oct. 4 through 7.

“This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. Sophie, a young bride-to-be, searches for her birth father hoping he’ll walk her down the aisle. After reading her mother’s diary, her quest brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island,” said Tomme Williams, who will direction the production. “The magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship. Audiences worldwide have fallen in love with the characters, the story, and the music of this ultimate feel-good show!”
Shows on Oct. 4, 5 and 6 begin at 7:30 p.m., and the Oct. 7 show begins at 2:30 p.m. All performances are at Felten-Start Theatre in Malloy Hall. Students tickets are $10, and tickets for the general public are $15.
