The Kansas State High School Activities Association released the classifications for the 2018-19 school year on Wednesday.
Hays High is one of the area schools that will change classifications from last school year to the current year.
The enrollment figures are based on the number of students enrolled in grades nine through 12 on September 20th.
Hays High’s official head count was 837 students moving them from 4A to 5A.
Central Plains, Hill City, Hodgeman County and La Crosse all dropped from 2A to 1A.
