A Hays man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly breaking into the Fort Hays Historical Museum and stealing items from the Block House.

The Sheriff’s Department responded to an alarm at 1:14am and discovered someone had broken into the Block House and taken several historic revolvers.

Deputies chased a 23-year-old Hays man and recovered the revolvers in a backpack. The suspect has been booked into the Ellis County Jail with charges pending.
