Nick Werth, is chairman of the Hays Volga German Oktoberfest, which was held Sept. 28 in Municipal Park.

Werth talked about the history of the local celebration with Eagle Communications’ Mike Koerner, noting that his dad was one of the original founders of Oktoberfest back in 1972.
