The Ellis County Commission Monday night heard several requests for funding in next year’s budget. County Attorney Tom Drees made a plea for additional help in his office to lower the number of cases that go unresolved.

            Drees would like to hire another attorney and support staff at a total cost with benefits of $121,000. The commission also heard from four other county departments and five outside agencies.
