Storms Thursday night brought high winds, heavy rain and hail to the area.

Ellis County Emergency Management sounded the tornado sirens in Hays shortly after 8pm based on multiple reports of cloud rotation and debris by Hays High School. The National Weather Service never issued a tornado warning for Ellis County.

Damage is still being assessed from the hail and straight line winds.
