HAYS, Kan. – The TMP-Marian softball team used a couple of big innings to sweep Ellis Tuesday at the TMP Field. The Monarchs won 11-0 and 18-3. Both were shortened by run-rule.
TMP scored eight runs in the third inning to blow open the first game which was called after four innings. Emilee Augustine and Sophia Coulter both had two hits with Augustine driving in three.
The Monarchs scored eight runs in the first then eight more in the second in game two which was called after three. Kyliegh Allen and Lexi Gottschalk both had three hits with Allen driving in five and Gottschalk four.
Allen picked up the wins in both games. She struck out 12 with one walk while allowing two hits in the first game then fanned five with two walks and three hits in game two.
The Monarchs are now 5-5. They’re scheduled to play at Goodland Friday.
