Larks rally for first KCLB win over Dodge City

The Hays Larks rallied from down seven runs Sunday to earn their first Kansas Collegiate Baseball League win over the Dodge City A’s 9-8 in Hays.

The A’s lead 7-0 through four innings but the Larks Mikey Gangwish homered as part of a four run Hays fourth to cut the deficit to 7-4.

After the A’s got a run back in their half of the fifth inning Hays added three more in the fifth to cut the A’s lead to 8-7.

The Larks tied the game at eight in the sixth inning when they scored a run on a wild pitch.

Neither team was able to push across a run until the 11th when Wyatt Divis singled home Gangwish for the walk-off win.

Gangwich, Divis and Drake Angeron all drove in two run for Hays.

Reliever Rustin Hays allowed just a solo homerun in seven innings of relief and earned the victory for the Larks.

The Larks are 2-1 on the season.

Game two of the series is Tuesday night in Dodge City.
