RUSSELL – Remington Cox and Jack Fields both drove in four runs to lead the Hays Eagles Junior American Legion to a 17-5 run-rule win over Russell Post 99 Tuesday night at Russell High School.

Cox, Dalton Dale and Wyatt Crain all had three hit nights.

Dale pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed four runs along with seven strikeouts and six walks for the win.

After each team scored two runs in the first inning, the Eagles took control with a seven-run second. They later added four in the seventh.

The Junior Eagles are now 7-11-1 on the season. They host Abilene in a 5 p.m. doubleheader Thursday at Hays High School.
