The Hays Police Department conducted 78 traffic stops over the weekend and there were 21 animal calls to Hays PD from Friday to Sunday, according to the Police Activity Log. Friday morning the Hays Police Department investigated a theft at Wal-Mart Superstore.
Hays EMS made an ambulance run to Wal-Mart on Friday afternoon in connection with a suspicious activity call made to the Hays Police Department. Hays PD investigated a fireworks violation in the 100 block of West 14th Street on Friday afternoon as well. Also on Friday afternoon the Hays Police investigated a case of simple Battery in the 100 block of East 18th Street.
Hays PD responded to a criminal threat and the report of a suspicious person in the 1900 block of East 24th Street. Finally Hays PD investigated a liquor offense at Frontier Park.
Saturday was one of the busiest days for the Hays Police Department. According to the activity log the Police Department dealt with four liquor offenses and two drug related offenses on Saturday. The first happened in the 500 block of West 7th. The second incident was a liquor offense as well as obstruction of legal process in the 100 block ofAsh Street.
There was also a pair of incidents of minors in possession. The first was in the 100 block of Ash Streetand the second was in the 100 block of West 3rd Street. The first drug offense was also a driving under the influence offense and that happened in the 1200 block of East 22nd Street just after1:30 am. The second offense was in the 100 block of West 12 Street on Saturday afternoon.
The Hays EMS made an ambulance run in connection with a case of aggravated battery in the 2200 block of Walnut Saturday afternoon. The Hays Police Department also investigated a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block ofPine Streetearly Saturday morning. Also Saturday morning Hays PD investigated a civil dispute at Chuck’s Bar.
The Hays Police Department also investigated a pair of battery cases and a pair disorderly conduct calls early Saturday morning. The first was just after 1:15 amat the Wild Rose. They also responded to a disorderly conduct/simple battery call in the 700 block of Park Street. Hays PD responded to the 300 block of West 6th Street to investigate a case of simple battery just after3:00 am and they also responded to a Disorderly Conduct call in the 400 block ofWalnut Street just after4:00 am.
There was also a report of harassment by telephone or fax reported in the 1300 block ofWestern Plains Drive Saturday evening.
Finally the Hays Police Department investigated three hit and run accidents and another motor vehicle accident on Saturday. The first hit and run accident happened just after 1:00 amin the 1100 block of Drum Ave. The second one occurred in the 800 block of 8th Street and the final hit and run accident was reported in the 300 block ofMopar Drive.
On Sunday Hays PD responded to a rash of burglaries and theft. There were five burglaries reported on Sunday that occurred sometime between Saturday evening and early Sunday morning. The first was at a residence in the 3700 block of Hall Street. There was also the burglary of a vehicle in the 400 block of West 6th Street. Police officials also investigated a report of burglary of a vehicle in the 2400 block of Centennial Boulevard that occurred Saturday evening or early Sunday morning. The final two reports were from the 400 block of West 5th Street.
There was a suspicious activity report in the area between Friday evening and Sunday morning and a burglary report between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The Hays PD also investigated a report of theft in the 3800 block ofButter Field Road.
Hays Police also responded to a number of motor vehicle accidents on Sunday. The first was a motor vehicle accident with a pedestrian in the 2900 block of Vine Streetat midnighton Sunday morning. Hays PD officials also investigated a pair of motor vehicle accidents involving Private Property at Dollar General in the 1200 block of East 27th Street.
There was also a report of an accident involving private property in the 600 block of East 15th Street. The final accident was reported in the 100 block of East 22nd Street.
Police officers also investigated criminal damage to property and suspicious activity in the 1900 block of Main Streetbetween Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Early Sunday morning Hays PD responded to a pair of disturbance calls. The first was a fight in the 300 block of East 6th Street and the second was a general disturbance along with an underage possession at Chuck’s Bar. Hays PD also investigated a report of an intoxicated subject just after5:00 am at Walgreens onVine Street.
Sunday evening officers responded to a pair of civil dispute calls. The first was in the 100 block of West 12th Street and the second was a custody dispute in the 1000 block ofReservation Road.
Finally Hays PD made conducted two traffic stops were the individual was driving with a suspended or revoked license. The first happened in the early hours on Sunday in the 700 block of Elm Streetand the second occurred in the 3300 block of Vine StreetSunday night. The Hays Police Department also conducted one driving under the influence stop just after midnightSunday in the 500 block of West 8th Street.
