Beverly Ann Franklin, age 62, passed away on September 17, 2019 at the Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom, Kansas. She was born on July 19, 1957 in Ransom, Kansas the daughter of Wayne and Laura (Wyman) Turner.
Beverly was a 1975 graduate of Ransom High School. Throughout high school Bev loved cheerleading and even sewed her cheerleading uniform along with many other clothes. Bev was the mother of three daughters. She was the assistant vice-president and operations officer at the First State Bank, Ransom where she had worked for 33 years. She was a member of St. Aloysius Church and the Altar Society, both of Ransom. Bev enjoyed country music, concerts, rodeos, being at the lake, and hiking. She loved her family deeply and greatly enjoyed the times when her brothers and sisters got together. Bev was devoted to her daughters and would drive hundreds of miles to be sure she was there to celebrate birthdays and other events with her children and grandchildren.
On August 19, 2006, Bev married Bruce Franklin in Utica. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2008.
Survivors include her mother, Laura Turner of Ransom; daughters, Kim Kendall and her husband, Joe, of Pratt, Amy Engelbert and her husband, Zane, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Val Klitzke and her husband, Bryce, of Pratt; brothers, Gary Turner of Miltonvale and Mike Turner and his wife, Tessie, of Dixon, California; and her sister, Vicki Schmidt and her husband, Rich, of Mulvane; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Turner, her husband, Bruce Franklin, and an infant son.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, September 21, 2019, 10:30 a.m., at the St. Aloysius Church, Ransom. Burial in the Vansburgh Cemetery, Brownell, Kansas. Visitation will be on Friday, September 20, 2019, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Ransom VFW.
