The Derby Twins scored the tying run on a fielding error by Larks shortstop Elvin Rodriguez with two outs in the ninth inning and go on to beat the Hays Larks 4-3 in 12 innings in the opening game of their three-game Jayhawk League series Friday night  in Derby.

The Larks scored single runs in the first, fourth and seventh inning at led 3-1 at one point. Cody Gougler had three hits in the game.

Michael Burchett, who gave up a single then game-winning double in the 12th, takes the loss. Burchett allowed just the one run on two hits over 2 1/3 innings.

The Larks fall to 15-8 and 9-7 in the Jayhawk League.
