Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Wednesday morning for the new location of the Hays Commerce Bank.
The land, at 22nd and Vine Streets, belonged to Ellis County and was the site of the old Kansas Department of Transportation building.
Once Commerce Bank vacates its building on south Main Street, Ellis County will take over the downtown location and relocate some of its offices from the courthouse.
