
The Hays Larks remain winless against Liberal this summer. The Larks dropped to 0-5 against the defending NBC World Series champs with a 4-1 loss Tuesday night in game one of a two-game series at Larks Park.
The Bee Jays scored single runs in the first and second then tacked on two unearned runs in the seventh. The Larks commit four errors in the game and now have two or more errors in their last five.
Kirk Jewasko takes the loss despite allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits over six innings. Aaron Cornell had three hits and Jon Ryan added two.
The Larks have lost five of their last seven and drop to 15-10 and 9-9 in the Jayhawk League where they fall 3 1/2 back of the front-running Bee Jays.
Andy Lewton is the expected starter Wednesday night for the Larks in the series finale at seven o’clock which you can hear on KAYS beginning at 6:40pm.
