A Plainville man was killed in a single vehicle accident Sunday morning, shortly after 3 AM, 5 miles east of Plainville on Z Rd.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Colburn R. Patterson was eastbound on Z Rd when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the north ditch and struck an embankment.

Patterson was transported to Rooks County Hospital, where he later died.
