The Hays Police Department conducted 10 traffic strops and received four animal calls on Friday, according to the Police Activity Log.
Vehicle Accidents: The Hays Police Department responded to four reports of motor vehicle accidents on Friday. The first accident was reported in the 3700 block of Vine Street Friday morning. Officers investigated a personal injury in connection with the accident. Officers responded to a report of a hit and run in the accident in the 2400 block of Vine Street, Friday afternoon. Accidents were also reported at 13th andAllen Street and in the 3600 block of Vine Street, Friday evening.
Driving Under the Influence: Officers conducted a traffic in the 400 block of West 7th Street Friday night, just before 9:45, during the traffic stop officers began to investigate the driver for an alleged case of driving under the influence.
Theft: The Hays Police Department conducted a welfare check in the 700 block East 6th Street Friday. Officers began an investigation into the theft of a vehicle that occurred between Friday August 3rd and Saturday the 4th.
Damage to Property: Hays PD received a report of suspicious activity in the 200 block of East 16th Street Friday morning just after 10:30. Officers began an investigation into some damage to the property that may have been connected to the alleged report of suspicious activity.
Civil Dispute: The Hays Police Department received a report of an abandoned vehicle in the 1600 block ofMain Street at 3:40Friday afternoon. After responding to the report officers began to investigate a report of a civil dispute in connection with this case.
Water Use Violation: According to the Police Activity Log, there were four reports of water use violations throughout the day on Friday. The first two were reported before 8:00 am. The first was in the 100 block of West 38th and the second was in the 2800 block of Plaza Avenue. Another water use violation was reported just before 9:00 in the 1500 block of Oakmont Street. The final report of water use violation was in the 2000 block of Fort Street just before 5:00pm.
