Four members of the Hays Larks have been named to the NBC World Series All-America Team. Pitcher Shawn Lewick, catcher Brett Lang along with outfielders Austin Darby and Aaron Cornell receive the honor.
Lewick went 2-0 in the tournament and had the second lowest ERA at 1.29. Darby was tied for the RBI lead with seven and tied for second in total hits with 14, one behind Cornell who led the tourney with 15 hits. Lang was behind the plate in seven of the Larks eight games in Wichita and had two doubles and a triple. He also walked drove in five runs while walking five times and scoring five runs.
The Jayhawk League champs went 6-2 and finished third at the World Series with all six wins in the losers bracket following an opening round loss. They finished the season 35-13.
