The Hays Police Department conducted 12 traffic stops and received 10 animal calls on Thursday, according to the Police Activity Log.
DUI: Hays Police Officers conducted two driving under the influence stops in the early morning hours Thursday. The first DUI stop was in the 1000 block of Fort Street at 1:51AM. Officers investigated an alleged drug related offense with this stop. The second DUI stop was conducted in the 600 block of Elm Street just after 2:00AM.
Drug Offense: The Hays PD investigated the second drug related offense in the 500 block of West 15th Street Thursday night.
Theft: Officers investigated a report of theft in the 300 block of West 10th Street on Thursday.
Domestic Disturbance: The Hays Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of East 27th Street Thursday evening just after 8:00.
Vehicle Accidents: Hays Police Officers responded to four motor vehicle accidents throughout the day on Thursday. The first occurred in the 900 block of Oak Street at 11:15AM. Officers investigated the report of a hits and run accident in the 1900 block of Vine Street. The alleged incident happened between 11:30AM and 12:26PM Thursday. Another accident was reported at 12:30 Thursday afternoon in the 1100 block of East 27th Street. The final accident occurred at 9th and Allen at 5:20 Thursday evening.
Water Use Violations: According to the Police Activity Log, there were two reports of water use violations Thursday. The first happened just after 7:45 Thursday morning in the 1000 block of West 27th Street. The second incident was reported at 4th and Pine Street Thursday afternoon.
