Learn to Put More Plants on the Plate at Free Extension Program

For better health, the new American plate should have smaller portions of high fat and highly processed foods. By gradually adding more vegetables, fruits, grains and legumes to your daily menu, you will discover many health benefits.
Learn more at a free program hosted by the Ellis County Extension Office on Tuesday, September 11 at 12:00 noon at the Extension Office Meeting Room, 601 Main Street in Hays.  Enter the side door from the north parking lot. Bring a lunch to enjoy during the program, if desired; beverages will be provided.
The guest speaker is Donna Krug, Barton County Extension Agent and author of statewide Extension materials on healthy eating.  Her presentation will include some tasty recipe ideas to inspire you to put more plants on the plate.
A minimum enrollment is required for this program to be held, so pre-registration is requested at 785-628-9430.  For more information, contact Linda Beech, Ellis County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences.
