A Wichita man died Friday night and four others were injured in an accident just outside of Dodge City.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Jerod Dailing of Larned was southbound on 14th Avenue around 10:40 pm when he failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a westbound vehicle on US56 driven by Nicholas Edwards, of Manhattan.

All parties were transported to Western Plains Regional Hospital with disabling injuries. Passengers in Dailing’s vehicle, 27-yearold Phillisha Veach and 8-year-old Bethany Veach, as well as Edwards were then  flown to St. Francis in Wichita.

Edwards’ passenger, 24-year-old Todd Fitzsimmons of Wichita died as a result of his injuries.

No further information was released.
