Obituary – September 4, 2012

Lavina Vonfeldt

McKinney, Texas – Lavina Vonfeldt, age 79, former Hays, Kansas, resident died August 18, 2012, at the Orchard Park Assisted Living Center in McKinney, Texas.
She was born on March 21, 1933, in Victoria, Kansas, to Levin and Pauline (Weigel) Kuhn.  She married Lavern Vonfeldt on August 6, 1952, in Victoria, Kansas.
She was a homemaker, and the Office Manager for Fort Hays State University Athletic Department from 1987 until she retired in 2005.  In her earlier years she worked for Hadley Regional Hospital as a ward secretary, was a  bookkeeper at The Eddie Clinic  and  Woods and Starr Architects and Engineers, all in Hays, Kansas.  She grew up in Victoria, Kansas, was a 1950
graduate of Victoria High School, the Radio and Electronic School in Omaha, NE, and Brown Mackie School of business in Salina, Kansas.  She moved to Hays, Kansas, in 1982.  She moved to Fairview, Texas, in 2005, and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Allen, Texas.   She was a former member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, Kansas, and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, Kansas.  While living in Texas, she was a volunteer at the Texas Health Resource Hospital and the St. Jude Catholic Church, both in Allen, Texas.
Survivors include one son, Bryan Vonfeldt and wife, Nancy, Lucas, TX; two granddaughters, Jenifer Vonfeldt, Addison, TX; Sarah Holland and husband, Jay, San Antonio, TX; two great grandchildren, Kaelyn and Dane Holland; one sister-in-law, Theresa Kuhn, Victoria, KS;  one nephew, Bob Kuhn and wife, Debbie, Victoria, KS; two nieces, Kathy Thomas, Eureka, KS;
Sharon Bleske and husband, Calvin, Victoria, KS; and two great nephews, Jordan and Ryan Bleske.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Oliver Kuhn.
A memorial mass is at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 13, 2012, at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, Kansas.  Burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, Kansas.
