Lawrence J. Brungardt Jr.

Emmeram, Kansas – Lawrence J. Brungardt Jr. age 71, died Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.

He was born April 16, 1941, in Hays, Kansas, to Lawrence J. and Alexia (Herman) Brungardt Sr. He married M. Myrlene (Castor) on June 10,1961, in Russell, Kansas. She died May 7, 2002.

He was a1959 graduate of Victoria High School and a graduate of Fort Hays State College with a degree in Accounting/Finance. He worked with Agricultural Lending and Cattle Order Buying and was a farmer/stockman. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Walker, Kansas.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Pottorff and husband, Michael, TerreHaute, Indiana; Amanda Brungardt-Oxenford, Walker, KS; his mother, Alexia Brungardt, Hays, KS; one brother, Sam Brungardt, Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sisters, Marge Carlson, Hays, KS; Jackie Prickett, Wichita, KS; five grandchildren, Patrick and Peter Pottorff; Christian and Alexia Oxenford; Malachi Wilhelm; and his companion, Jackie House, Salina, Ks. Services are 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Walker, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the church. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
