Dealing with a light agenda, the Ellis County Commission Monday night approved an amendment to clean up the Fire District bylaws and discussed the monthly budget report.

County Administrator Greg Sund says the General Fund cash balance is higher this year than it was at the same time last year due to a restructuring of the budget.

The commission also approved an agreement with Spangenberg Phillips Tice Architecture for design of a new EMS/Rural Fire building.
