State Transportation Plan Update in Hays

Hays  hosts one of eight regional meetings Tuesday morning at the Kansas Highway Patrol headquarters to update Kansans on T-WORKS projects.

The state Department of Transportation administers the $7.8 billion, 10-year transportation program.  It was passed by the legislature in 2010.  T-WORKS is designed to create jobs, preserve highway infrastructure and provide multi-modal economic development opportunities.

A minimum of $8 million  will be invested in each of Kansas’ 105 counties.

Participants are also prioritizing transportation projects in their areas, should funding become available.
