The Hays Police Department conducted 50 traffic stops and received 10 animal calls on Saturday and Sunday, according to the police activity log.
Drug Offenses: The Hays Police Department investigated a total of seven drug related offenses over the weekend. Five of the alleged offenses occurred on Saturday morning. The first was reported in the 700 block of Ash Street at 12:33AM. Another drug related offense occurred in the 700 block of Riley Street at 1:21AM. At 1:38AM officers investigated drug related offenses in the 500 block of Elm Street. The final drug related offense investigated on Saturday was in the 400 block of West 2nd Street at 2:52AM. The Hays PD also investigated a drug related offense in the 400 block of West 7th Street at 4:43 Sunday morning.
Driving Under the Influence: Officers conducted three driving under the influence stops over the weekend. The first stop was in connection with the removal of an unwanted person in the 400 block of West 19th Street Saturday morning just after 12:00AM. Saturday evening at 11:44 officers conducted a DUI stop in the 700 block of Ash Street. The Hays PD also conducted a driving under the influence stop in the 1100 block of Main Street Sunday morning a 1:23AM.
Motor Vehicle Accidents: The Hays Police Department responded to three motor vehicle accidents on Saturday and one on Sunday. Officers investigated a report of a motor vehicle accident involving private property in the 1100 block of Vine Street that occurred between 7:50 and 7:55 Saturday morning. The second accident was reported in connection with an abandoned vehicle report at 13th and Vine Street Saturday at 11:50AM. Another accident was reported in the 2100 block of Vine Street at 2:30PM. There was one accident reported Sunday in the 2600 block of Vine Street between 2:05 and 2:10PM.
Theft: The Hays Police Department began investigations into two theft reports, one robbery and one burglary all reported over the weekend. There was the theft of a vehicle reported in the 200 block of West 9th Street Saturday. The alleged theft occurred between 1:00 and 9:30AM Saturday. Another theft was reported in the 300 block of East 23rd Street at 9:42AM.
A robbery was reported in the 200 block of West 10th Street in the early morning hours Sunday. The allege robbery occurred between 12:14 and 2:09AM.
Officers investigated an alleged burglary of a residence in the early morning hours Sunday. The alleged burglary occurred in the 400 block of West 7th Sunday between 1:30 and 5:00AM.
Disturbance: The Hays PD responded to four reports of disturbance reported on Sunday. Officers investigate a fight and a sex offense in connection with the first disturbance in the 100 block of East 12th Street. The alleged incident occurred just after 12:00AM. A disturbance was reported in the 600 block of Ash Street Sunday at 2:39AM. Officers investigated a disorderly conduct in connection with the disturbance. The Hays PD also invested a domestic disturbance and an aggravated battery report in the 500 block of East 20th Street at 3:02 Sunday afternoon.
