The host Bulldogs scored on a late penalty kick to down FHSU, 2-1, on Thursday in Kirksville, Mo. The Tigers dropped to 8-4-1 and 4-2 in the MIAA and TSU moved to 7-4-1 and 4-1-1 in the MIAA.
Truman scored the match-winning goal in the 85th minute as Tony Luedecke knocked in the penalty kick.
Both teams scored goals early in the first five minutes. The Bulldogs went up 1-0 in the second minute on a goal off a corner kick. The Tigers knotted the match at 1-1 in the fifth minute as Diego Cabral stole the ball from a defender in the box and scored. The goal was his seventh of the season, matching the team high with Tomas Mares.
The Tigers held a 20-14 shot advantage in the match, including a 12-8 advantage in the first half. FHSU had the advantage in corner kicks with 13 to five from TSU, including 11 in the second half.
Kent Freund started in goal for FHSU, going 90 minutes and making four saves. He is now 3-3-1 on the season.
