Weekend’s Police Activity Log

The Hays Police Department conducted 20 traffic stops and received seven animal calls on Friday, according to the Hays Police Activity Log.

Theft/Burglary: Officers began an investigation into four theft reports. The first two were thefts of vehicle reports. A vehicle theft was reported in the 500 block of Vine Street Friday morning at 12:58AM. Another theft of a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of West 6th Street in the early morning hours Friday. The alleged incident occurred between 2:00AM and 10:50AM Friday. The third theft was reported in the 3400 block of Vine Street at 1:52PM. The final theft was reported in the 4300 block of Vine Street at 4:25PM.

Aggravated Burglary: The Hays PD investigated a report of aggravated battery in the 1400 block of Fort Street Friday night at 7:41PM. Officers investigated a report of a burglary in connection with the aggravated battery report. Another burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 500 block of Vine Street between 12:00AM and 12:58AM.

Sex Offense: The Hays Police Department investigated a report of a sex offense in the 300 block of West 9thStreet at 4:42PM Friday.

Kidnapping: The Hays Police Department investigated a kidnapping report in the 3600 block of Vine Street Friday evening. The alleged kidnapping occurred between 8:06 and 8:40PM Friday.

Domestic Disturbance: A domestic disturbance was reported in the 1000 block of East 8th Street Friday morning at 12:28. Officers investigated a disorderly conduct report in connection with the domestic disturbance report.

Civil Dispute: Officers responded to the 300 block of West 9th Street at 6:07PM Friday for the report of a civil dispute.

Motor Vehicle Accidents: There were two motor vehicle accidents reports on Friday. The first accident was reported as a hit and run accident involving private property in the 400 block of East 23rd Street at 2:50 Friday afternoon. The second accident was reported in the 3500 block of Vine Street at 10:29PM. Officers investigated the driver for driving under the influence in connection with the motor vehicle accident.

On Saturday the Hays Police Department conducted 16 traffic stops and three animal calls.

Theft/Burglary: The Hays PD investigated four theft and one burglary report on Saturday. The burglary was reported in connection with a report of suspicious activity in the 1000 block of Country Club Drive. The alleged burglary occurred between Friday night at 9:00PM and Saturday afternoon at 1:05. Officers investigated a theft/shoplifting report in the 4300 block of Vine Street Saturday afternoon at 2:16PM. Another theft was reported in the 3700 block of Canal Boulevard Saturday afternoon. The alleged theft occurred between 10:30PM Friday night and 3:00PM Saturday. The Hays PD investigated a theft in connection with a liquor offense in the 900 block of Main Street Saturday evening. Officers also investigated the report of a theft of a vehicle in the 2800 block of Canal Boulevard. The alleged theft occurred between 7:00PM Friday and 10:45AM Saturday.

Drug Offenses: Officers responded to the 100 block of West 6th Street Saturday morning just after 1:30 to remove an unwanted person. When officers arrived they began an investigation into drug related offenses in connection with the removal of an unwanted person.

Motor Vehicle Accident: There was one motor vehicle accident reports on Saturday. The hit and run accident was reported in the 1200 block of Vine Street at 3:50PM.

Sunday

Suicidal Subjects: The Hays Police Department received two reports of suicidal subjects in the early morning hours Sunday. The first report was in connection with the report of suspicious activity in the 1400 block of Fort Street. The alleged incident occurred between 4:45 and 5:30AM. The other report of a suicidal subject was in the 200 block of East 6th Street at 6:16AM.

Burglary: Officers began an investigation into three burglary reports on Sunday. The first burglary was reported in the 1000 block of West 28th Street. The allegedly burglary occurred between October 14th and October 21st. The Hays PD investigated a burglary of a vehicle in connection with criminal damage to property in the 2500 block of Donald Drive in the early morning hours Sunday. The final burglary/theft was reported in the 500 block of West 16th Street Sunday evening.

Aggravated Battery: Officers responded to the 500 block of West 16th Street Sunday evening and began an investigation into a report of an aggravated battery case.

Motor Vehicle Accident: There was one motor vehicle accident reported on Sunday. The accident was reported at Centennial Boulevard and General Custer Road at 8:14AM.
