Duffy, Treanor Lift Royals Past Chicago

Rookie Danny Duffy overcame a 2-run first inning to lift the Royals past the White Sox 4-2 Tuesday.

Matt Treanor’s two-run single in the sixth inning was the difference as the Kansas City Royals defeat the Chicago White Sox 4-2 in the middle game of their three-game series at Kauffman Stadium.

Rookie Danny Duffy struggled early but settle down to throw seven strong innings for the win. The lefty allowed two runs on five hits and two walks for his second win since being called up to the big leagues in late May. 

Joakim Soria faced the minimum in the ninth for his 17th save and tenth in the last ten tries.

Melky Cabrera homered in the seventh gave the Royals a two-run cushion.
