During the holidays, we are reminded that Christmas is a time of joy, happiness, and generosity; yet there are children in Ellis County who are unable to enjoy the spirit of the season. The goal of the “Christmas for Kids Telethon” this year is $65,000 and we need your help to support and touch the lives of children in Ellis County.
Throughout the year, there is an average of 60-70 children on a waiting list that are in need of companionship, someone to spend one-on-one time with them, someone who is there just for them – to make them feel special. Big Brothers Big Sisters is committed to improving the lives of children in our community, and depend on the generosity of those who understand the importance of taking care of our children. The community opened their hearts last year, making it possible for us to match 106 kids this year with positive role models. A successful telethon will allow us to match each one of the children currently on our waiting list.

Regardless of your financial commitment, please join in the fun of the telethon that is televised live Sunday, December 2nd from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. You can watch it on Eagle Cable Channel 14, listen to it on KHAZ 99.5 FM, or join the excitement of a live broadcast at James Motor Company in Downtown Hays. By watching, you will be able to enjoy entertainment from local community groups and have a chance to meet successful matches and some of the children who are currently on our waiting list for a Big Brother or Big Sister.
