The Ramada Inn in Hays was evacuated early Friday morning when smoke filled a corridor.

The Hays Fire Department says an electric motor powering a heater in a guest room burned up creating the smoke on the second floor. There was no other damage reported.

The call was made to the fire department at 1:55 am.
