Construction is underway on another piece of the electric transmission system in Kansas. The new line will run from Medicine Lodge to Spearville, where it connects to the line through Ellis County to Axtell, Nebraska.

President of ITC Great Plains Kristine Schmidt says the 122 mile V-Plan will further bolster the state and nation’s power grid. She says Kansas has been very supportive of these transmission projects.

The new line is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2014.
