The Hays High Lady Indians didn’t allow a single point for the first 4:35 of the game, but found themselves down 3-2 after Colby made their first shot.  Colby made two more three pointers in a 9-0 run to take a 9-2 lead.  But Hays responded with an 11-0 and 8-3 run to grab a 21-14 half time lead.

The Indians lead by as many as 13 early in the fourth quarter before Colby cut the lead to eight with 1:58 remaining, but Hays hit six of eight free throws to close out the 43-33 victory moving to 1-0 on the season.
