First of Three Public Meetings on WaKeeney Hospital Finances Set for Thursday

Three public meetings are planned this month and next to discuss the financial situation at Trego Lemke Memorial Hospital.

The county has agreed to ask for $1.8 million in no-fund warrants to cover losses at the hospital, primarily caused by reductions in Medicare reimbursement rates. That money would have to be repaid by Trego County residents over four years.

The meetings will be at 7pm at the Western Cooperative Electric Community Room. The first is this Thursday and the others will be January 7th and 10th.
