Kansas City Signs 6 Draft Picks As Practice Begins

Chiefs come to terms with six of their 2011 draft picks. Open Training Camp Friday in St. Joseph, Mo.

ST JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) – The Kansas City Chiefs have signed six of their 2011 draft picks as the team prepares for its first day of practice Friday in St. Joseph, Mo.

Thursday’s signings are headed by lineman Allen Bailey, one of the team’s two third-round picks. Bailey played for the University of Miami last year.

Also signed were fourth-round selection Jalil Brown, a defensive back out of Colorado; Ricky Stanzi, a quarterback from Iowa; and fellow fifth-round selection Gabe Miller, a linebacker from Oregon State.

The others were Jerrell Powe, a defensive lineman out ofMississippiwho was picked in the sixth round, and seventh-round selection Shane Bannon, a fullback who played last year at Yale.

The Chiefs did not disclose terms of the contracts.
