The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies are asking for assistance in locating a man who has allegedly passed himself off as a law enforcement officer.
Robert Helms is suspected of traveling throughout the state, using a false badge to cash phony payroll checks and using bad checks to purchase items. Helms was in Russell and Scott City on February 1.
Helms is 45-years-old, 5’7″, 190 pounds with blue eyes. He has short gray hair, is known to wear round glasses and looks older than his age. He has recently been seen driving a maroon, possibly Chrysler or Dodge, minivan.
