
Grady Wood scattered nine hits over 8 1/3 innings as the Seattle Studs knocked off the Hays Larks 2-0 in the second-round of the NBC World Series in Wichita. Wood struck out six and walked just one in the victory.
Seattle scored their runs in the third thanks to two Larks throwing errors.
Larks starter Kirk Jewasko allowed the two unearned runs on six hits over 7 innings and takes the loss. Jewasko struck out four and walked four.
The loss drops the Larks to the loser’s bracket where they will play Walker Transmission (CO) in the 12:30am game early Saturday morning.
