Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton keep their relationship going strong despite their hectic schedules thanks to three simple rules.  Miranda recently shared those guidelines with E!, and good communication is at the top of the list.

“If you can’t jump on the phone to chat with your significant other, keep up the texting,” Miranda says.  “Seriously, try this out!  A simple text with those three little words during a workday can make the world of difference.”

A relationship can’t survive on texting alone.  Miranda stresses that spending time with your man is essential to keeping the spark alive.  She says, “No matter how busy your week is, you need at least one night just the two of you to rekindle the flame.”

Finally, Miranda suggests getting a dog to add some fun to your home life.

“I’m a passionate dog lover,” she says.  “Don’t forget your four-legged friends need unconditional love too!”

Miranda will have to send her Valentine’s Day wishes to Blake over the phone this year.  She has a show with Dierks Bentley Thursday, February 14 in Dekalb, IL.
