Part of  Seventh Street in Hays was blocked off Monday afternoon about 4p.m. as emergency personnel responded to reports of a suicidal subject at High Plains Mental Health Center, 208 E. Seventh.

According to the Hays Police Department, officers successfully restrained the woman who reportedly stabbed herself multiple times.

She was taken by ambulance to Hays Medical Center for surgery.
