Battery Charge Against KU’s Robinson Dismissed

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) – A misdemeanor battery charge against University of Kansas basketball player Thomas Robinson has been dismissed.

The Lawrence Journal-World reported that city Prosecutor Jerry Little said he dropped the charge because Robinson’s accuser didn’t want the case to continue.

Robinson was cited after police were called April 10 to a Lawrence nightclub. Little said Monday that the investigation revealed Robinson spit on a bouncer during an argument.

Robinson, a junior, was scheduled to appear in court Monday but Little said he dismissed the case Friday.

Robinson did complete 20 hours of community service and wrote a letter of apology to the victim.

Little also said other people apparently were involved i the incident but officers were unable to locate them.
