You will hear few complaints. The public is thankful for the work that has been done to clean streets of snow the past 3 days.

Hays Public Works Director I. D. Creech told Hays Post that city work crews were once again busy throughout the night and they are patiently waiting for the weekend sunshine to activate the brine material they are using.

The brine material helps melt the ice and snow. It penetrates the pores of road surfaces and is not disturbed by vehicle traffic.

Today, according to Creech, “Crews are out pushing  and trying to break loose ice material up and the blower is headed back to the airport.”   Stay tuned to Eagle radio and  Hays Post for the latest on winter weather, cancellations and delays
