A 28-year old Ellis woman was killed in an accident on I-70, eight miles west of Hays Monday night. Kirstin R. Nelson died when the driver of their Dodge Truck lost control of the vehicle on the ice and snow. The vehicle rolled in the median and landed on the passenger side.

Eric Nelson, the victim’s 31-year-old husband was transported to HayMed with possible injuries.  Five-year-old Chandra Nelson and 8-year-old Lucina Unrein were also taken to HaysMed. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that they all were wearing seat belts. Stay tuned to Eagle radio and Hay Post for more information as it becomes available.
