Emergency personnel responded to southwestern Stafford County early Tuesday evening for an oil field accident. A worker was riding on the front grille cage of a semi truck when he fell and the truck ran over him.
Because of the off-road location of the accident, and rugged terrain, the ambulance had to be parked a considerable distance away. Medics and their equipment were brought in by law enforcement vehicle.
The patient was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital and later transferred from there to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. (Photo courtesy of Stafford County Emergency Management)
