Only a eight residents attended Monday night’s special meeting on outdoor water use in Ellis. Ellis City Clerk Amy Burton told Hays Post, “Council members listened to comments and concerns, for and against last week’s decision to ban all outdoor watering.
No final decisions were made. However, there are several changes being considered. Those could be approved at next week’s regular council meeting.”
Last Wednesday the city announced a move to Stage 3 of the town’s Water Conservation Plan.
For the first time, all outdoor watering is banned. Private water wells are exempt.
