Two Salina boys are in the Juvenile Detention Center on charges of burglary, damage to property, possession of marijuana,theft of a motor vehicle, and theft.
Lt. Scott Siemsen says that an officer was sent to the Ramada Inn Thursday afternoon on a report of possible runaways.
After talking to the 12 and 14 year old’s investigators determined that the pair were involved in the break in of the Friendship Center at 746 Comanche and caused $700 in damage. They are also alleged to have stolen a pickup parked in the 1300-block of N. 4th and driven and left a couple of blocks away in the 1500-block N. 5th, that had the keys left underneath the seat. A small amount of marijuana was found in the pickup when it was recovered. They also are reported to have taken a box of shampoo and wire cutters from the Ramada Inn.
Kansas Law does not allow for the release of the names of suspects under the age of 14. The 14 year old is Kyle Farley of Salina.
