FHSU Students Thank the Community this Week

HAYS, Kan. — A thank you to the community from students at Fort Hays State University hosted by the Student Government Association, Greek Life and Tigers In Service — the third annual Big Event — will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at many sites around the community.

This one-day service project is a way for college students to show their appreciation to the Hays community for their continued support.

The SGA accepts projects from around the community, and students are assigned to those projects. The students will be notified beforehand where they are assigned for the day. The SGA will have a master list of projects for volunteers.

“Projects range from painting houses to raking leaves and reading to elementary students,” said Jessica Tormey, SGA treasurer. “There will also be projects going on around campus such as cleaning up Big Creek.”
