Western Kansas has seen a wide variety of weather over the past 24 hours. Ellis County has had hail, rain, high winds, ice, and a dusting of snow.
We have had reports of swirling clouds, severe weather warnings, winter storm watches and more. There have also been record low temperatures in parts of the state.
Garden City’s temperature of 19 degrees on Tuesday tied a record from 1973. There have also been reports of downed trees limbs and power lines in McPherson and Hutchinson…and there are reports of problems with ice on power lines this morning in Salina.
There have been no tornadoes, but there was rotation reported in clouds around the state on Tuesday. I-70 was closed from Goodland to the Colorado line for a time on Tuesday night due to blowing snow. It is open this morning. However, roads across the region have slush, are icy and slick. We will have moisture totals available later this morning.
