TMP-Marian Baseball Sweeps Sacred Heart

TMPThe TMP-Marian baseball team has won eight of their last nine games following a  doubleheader sweep of Salina Sacred Heart on Thursday at Larks Park.  TMP won game one 6-3 behind seven strong innings from sophomore Kameron Schmidt.  The Monarch offense scored 3 first inning runs and never looked back.

TMP blanked the Knights 6-0 in the second game.  Senior Shane Zimmerman picked up his second win of the season and worked out of a couple of jams including a bases loaded, two out jam in the top of the sixth inning to preserve a 3-0 lead.  The Monarchs would tack on 3 runs in the bottom of the inning to secure the win.

The Knights came into the doubleheader averaging nearly 12 runs per game and falls to 9-3 on the season.  TMP improves to 8-4 on the year and will have a pair of doubleheaders on the road next week.  At Russell on Monday and at Larned on Tuesday.
